Graham Wilde studied in London and Leicester, specialising in fine art, painting and printmaking. His preferred medium is oil paint. His experience and breadth of teaching, combined with painting abroad illustrates his enthusiasm for bright colours and atmosphere, often resulting in a series of works on similar themes. Grahams interest in natural forms is most evident in his woodblock prints, a completely different discipline that does not have the fluidity of painting. Skills in designing and cutting the blocks are required to produce strong visual images along with patience and care in taking the print. He also paints murals to commission in private homes and public places. These works are on a large scale where client imput as well as his own generates successful results. They are also fun to do. In his studio in Alvington, Graham runs courses in painting, drawing and printmaking. often using his garden for subjects. His studio is open to the public throughout July as part of the Forest & Valley Open Studios month. |
